Adium Integration
Update (9/10/2025): Along with the release of the new Offerchat dashboard and widget, configuration settings to integrate your Offerchat account with Adium has been changed. The instructions below have been updated to fit the all-new Offerchat dashboard and widget.

Adium for Mac is the native instant messaging for Mac computers. If you don’t want to chat with your site visitors and customers through the browser and would like to do it with Adium instead, you can integrate your Offerchat account with Adium and chat from this program.
How to Merge Offerchat with Adium
Step 1: Open Adium on your computer.
Step2: Click File > Add Account > XMPP
Step 3: Enter your Jabber ID and Password.
You will find this information in your Offerchat dashboard.
To do this:
- Open a new tab and go to the Offerchat.com/login
- Access your dashboard
- Click your avatar to open the menu
- Go to Accounts > IM instructions
- Copy and paste the unique username and password from the dashboard to the Adium screen on Mac (pictured below)
Step 4: Configure the Options tab
Click Options
Type 1 on the box that says Available Priority.
Set Connect Server to im.offerchat.com
Step 5: Click OK to finish setup.
You can now chat with your customers from the Adium IM client on your computer. This is how it looks like in action:

Update (4/10/2025): To avoid any conflict on the display name on the widget and to ensure the widget on your site displays the name you want to appear, set a display name on your Account settings in the Offerchat dashboard. See this post for step-by-step instructions.
