Couple of Live Chat New Features You Shouldn’t Miss
We rolled out a couple of live chat new features for everybody. You might have noticed them already, but for those who haven’t here they are:
1. Desktop notifications
2. Edit last message sent
Desktop notifications in Chrome and Safari
Receive notifications right on your desktop screen. This feature only works if you’ve accessed the dashboard through a Chrome or Safari browser. We’ll still working to make this feature available on Firefox and IE.
How it looks:
Small pop-out notifications appear in the lower right of your screen each time you receive a new incoming chat. Handy when you’re attention is away from the dashboard and can’t even see the browser tab for your Offerchat dash.
Also, it comes with a notification sound.
Below is a screen grab of the desktop notification in action. It appeared as a couple of new chats arrived while a support team member is browsing a site. Duty calls!
How to activate this feature:
Access the Accounts settings from the dashboard by clicking your avatar. Then go to Notifications. Allow pop ups when prompted by the browser. Enable desktop notifications.

Edit last message sent
Wouldn’t it be cool to be able to correct the typos on that last message?
Offerchat live chat now has a Skype-like feature where you can edit the previous message, even if you’ve already pressed enter.
How to do it:
On the chat window, while chatting with a visitor, just press the Up arrow key to bring back the last message you’ve entered in the reply box.
Edit the text and re-send by pressing Enter.
The corrected message will appear in the visitor’s end (widget view), replacing the previous one.
Cool to Note:
You can only edit the last message you sent. You cannot edit chat messages preceding your latest message.
