Why can’t the live chat widget work on IE?
Update: Offerchat has switched to iFrame. This move has eradicated all issues associated with the Internet Explorer browser. If you’re still experiencing problems with IE, please chat with the support team today.
The Offerchat live chat widget currently has browser compatibility issues with Internet Explorer, especially older versions. One or all scenarios might happen:
- Website owners cannot see the widget on their site after adding Offerchat using Internet Explorer.
- Website owners cannot access or see the web based chat panel or dashboard after logging in using Internet Explorer.
- Site visitors, customers, and other people cannot see the live chat widget on the website with Offerchat live chat when browsing said website using Internet Explorer.
This is mainly because the live chat tool is built on newer web technologies, which most IE browsers (especially old versions) do not have. That said, the Offerchat live chat widget and dashboard is best viewed in new browsers like Chrome, Firefox, IE 9 and up.
As of this writing, the Development Team is optimizing the tool to work with all IE browsers including the past versions. Work is still in progress.
